Production + arranging
Katie works with artists to develop the musical architecture of a piece—shaping arrangements, instrumentation, texture, and production in ways that reveal and strengthen its character. Rooted in violin and orchestral strings, her approach draws equally from years of composition and from extensive experience producing music across genres.
Arranging might mean creating a string part that quietly changes the emotional weight of a song, building a layered ensemble from a single idea, or reimagining an existing composition for a new setting. In production, Katie considers the larger sonic picture: how parts interact, where space and tension can emerge, and how individual sounds contribute to the feeling of the whole.
She works closely with artists throughout the process, balancing creative exploration with a clear understanding of the project's intention. The goal isn't to impose a signature sound, but to find what the music is asking for—and help bring it into focus.
Services can include: string and orchestral arranging, instrumentation, composition and co-composition, production, editing, sound design, and creative development.
